While installing or launching previous versions of Acrobat on macOS 10.14 (Mojave), the following warning messages were displayed:
Acrobat core code base was migrated to 64-bit with the Acrobat DC release in 2015. However, shared components were not migrated then, and that caused these warning messages.
In this release, all the shared components are now migrated to 64-bit for all the Acrobat tracks – DC, Classic 2017, and Classic 2015. As a result, no such warning dialogs are shown during application installation and launch.
In this release of Acrobat, many Mac OS X Deprecated APIs, particularly related to the file system access, are replaced with newer optimized APIs in core areas, such as Viewer, Distiller, Synchronizer, and Plug-ins. It's resulted in a huge improvement (70%) in the application launch time on all supported Mac OS with APFS file system. It's also improved the application’s responsiveness across various features and made it twice as fast as before.
These improvements are available in both DC and Classic 2017 tracks.
When you select text or image in Acrobat, you see a quick action toolbar. Now you can hide the toolbar using a newly added preference. By default, the toolbar is enabled.
Steps to hide the toolbar:
In Acrobat, go to Edit > Preferences (Windows), or Acrobat > Preferences (Mac).
In the left pane, select General, and then clear the Show quick actions on text selection check box.
For more information about preferences, see Viewing PDFs and related preferences.
Preference to reopen PDFs from the last Acrobat session
Acrobat can now automatically reopen PDFs from the last session on the launch. A new preference is added to enable or disable this capability. By default, the preference is disabled.
Steps to enable the preference:
In Acrobat, go to Edit > Preferences (Windows), or Acrobat > Preferences (Mac).
In the left pane, select General, and then select the Open PDFs from
last session on Acrobat launch check box.
Improved messaging for Review and Share workflows
All strings, including labels, options, and messaging of the Share user interface are further simplified.
